A Filled Body reflects the traces of our lives through the powerful vitality created by flexible and refined flows. I am alive, filled with energy inside me. Constantly reproducing inner energy for myself, I live with mild but strong power. I want to live, filling my inner self with energy. I don't want to stop. I want to keep living.
'Body of Fixity and Freedom is a work inspired by reclining figures by sculptor Gwon Osang, depicting the fixity and freedom of the body. Ten dancers make and visualize organic and inherent movements of self-creation by observing reclining figures confined to forms while exploring and imagining the freedom of the body. The choreographer concentrates on the relationship between bones, joints and muscles of body structures in the reclining figures portrayed through the dancers' bodies, rearranging movements by moving and transforming the body.
The shadow is in everyone's. If it's everyone's, how can we handle it. Even a little kid has a desire to destroy, killing bugs. Do we need to take out this darkness at somewhere? There is always a great power in what fascinates us, a power that includes love and violence. I want to melt my body into this complexity. Not because I want to create something dark, but because I want to see the light of our own which I hope broader than violence and negative emotions.
