Three Bolero

‘Bolero’ of Maurice Ravel is a classical piece that has inspired numerous choreographers and dancers. This time, 3 choreographers - Kim Yong-geol, Kim Seoljin, Kim Boram - present their own interpretation of Bolero, with different arrangement and musical scale. Kim Yong-geol dances to the live music played by the Orchestra, underlining the four repeated rhythms with elegant and flexible ballet movements in a witty and rhythmical manner. Kim Seoljin is collaborating with skilled dancers of contemporary dance, Korean traditional dance, B-boying, and poppin dance to dance to a blending of electronic music, percussion, and projection mapping. Kim Boram started her theme from "tracing the origin of facial expression" and titled the performance . Refusing the typical interpretation of music, Kim dismantles and reassembles the melody and rhythm of Bolero, and fills the stage with a spectacular performance with herself transforming from a dancer to instrument, from a performer to musician.
